I personally think that it's her first ever performance from Lucas back in 1986. I love Rina in that movie because she's such a realistic character.

The Crucible. Horny, whipsmart, conniving and feral and with just the right amount of tenderness and vulnerability. Too bad that movie isn't seen more.

Personally, I think she hasn't had a role yet that's been too underrated than all the others. If I have to give an answer, I'll say May Welland from The Age of Innocence comes close. That character, to me, was discreet but still very affecting. A very close second, if not debated to be first, would be Gemma from Squaredance. Now, if perhaps, she finally, ultimately challenges herself the most by going WAY AGAINST TYPE and did a VERY conservative type role (you know, like the kind she wouldn't likely ever do because it wouldn't be everything she vehemently believes or is interested in). I could see that being very underrated by most of her fans (being mostly of same mold, accepting seemingly everything that's Winona, yada-yada...) (and hopefully not a supporting type, pray to the gods, I'm telling ya) because, deniably they all wouldn't care for that role so much because it wouldn't be like Winona to do that. Or maybe it would and stick out...like a sore thumb. Only not sore, just thumb out. I say she never will because she's too far gone and convicted to her own .. beliefs and interests and has never FULLY understood what's opposite that. And, as you all know, she has always self-proclaimed to be so that way. But, to be fair, and quote Seinfeld, "not that there's anything (for the most part) wrong with that..." Has she actually had a role like that (that I must have slept through and forgot)? Be Good (again, so would a non-supportive full-fledged, first-billed, "please, one more, thank you" starring role) (I suppose, crap-chances on that too)
