I came across this image of Winona in Louis Tussauds' wax museum in Blackpool, England. Some of the figures are very poorly done, i.e. they don't look like the celeb at all. Winona's, however, comes pretty close, don't you think?

Pretty good rendition of Winona in wax. ----- I'd love to see our lovely Winona in wax, but England is just a little too far away for me. ;D ----- Charles you mentioned how many of the wax figures at the Louis Tussand's museum were not very well done. A bit of trivia. ----- The best wax figure I ever saw was at Movieland Wax Museum in Buena Park, California. ------ Humphrey Bogart in the boat from "African Queen" with Katherine Hepburn. His wax figure was so well done, you would swear he was about to talk to you as you looked at him. ----- Sorry to say Movieland Wax Museum closed down a few years ago. ----- Rusty

I'm apleased at how good the figure of Winona is. It's true that some of these wax figures of celebrities are terrible but occasionally the artist gets it exactly right. It's too bad these old wax museums are slowly fading away; they were chintzy but somehow rather fun, the golden age of celebrity (and horror).

Recently I did a project on the 10th Street corridor in Washington, D.C. and Madame Tussauds is one of the main attractions in that part of town (as well as the Ford Theater where Lincoln was assassinated). In the link below you can see a really good rendition of Johnny Depp in wax. Madame Tussauds in D.C.

Yes Johnny Depp's wax figure is amazingly realistic. ---- It's great that the museum lets guests take pictures with their favorites. ---- Rusty

To me, that wax figure's face barely has any resemblance to Winona Ryder. Also most celebrities are already 'waxed' too much, so this is simply a case of waxing over the wax. Yep.
