This is my first German film.
Wim Wender's film, starring Bruno Ganz and Peter Falk, is about angels in Berlin observing humanity and human existence. Cinematography Henri Alekan's work is brilliant, and Peter Falk has never been better.
Any other of Wender's films I should check out?

Seen it twice, a haunting, lovely achievement. A film one should dig out every two years to see how differently one feels about it each time. Also, just found out ALICE IN THE CITIES. A burned out photojournalist working in NYC slowly finds himself after he becomes the guardian of a little girl whose troubled mother left her never to return. They go on a roadtrip to find her grandmother's place across Germany. A charming little drama, and also a good time capsule/travelogue of the changing face of early 70s West Germany. I WANT to ride the upside down monorail in Wuppertal someday...it may be the most fascinating-looking public transport I have ever seen. And also includes some very neat tributes to John Ford... This is my first German film.

It's mine favourite Wenders movie, with the first of the trilogy (Alice). In Italy it's titled "sky on Berlin".
