The Hindenburg finally came out on DVD. And I thought about a poll for how well do you like George C. Scott as an actor. ----- And what are some of his movies that are your favorites ------------- Rusty

first rate actor...rotten person..but lets' go to the tape.. best comedy...toss up between Dr. Strangelove and The Hospital. Best drama, Patton. Best t.v. movie christmas carol. Saw Hindenburg on a dream double bill with American Graffittti. Looked great on the big screen.

I chose the last one, although any of the bottom 3 would've been good choices.
I miss him. My favorites are Christmas Carol, The Flim Flam Man(his own personal favorite), Dr. Strangelove, Patton, The Hustler("You owe me MONEY!"), Anatomy of a Murder, The New Centurions, and Finding the Way Home.
I remember what Gene Siskel(who I also miss) said Scott told him when asked what makes a great actor. He told Gene one of the elements is, does the person on screen look like he's enjoying himself playing the role. That's Scott all right!

Excellent here also. ----- Has anyone seen him in "The Last Run" He plays an ex-con who is hired to transport, a man and his girl, in his sportscar to a place where the people who hired him plan to kill the couple. - Some real good car chase scenes. ---- Rusty

What an old thread! And Search never works for me.
Anyways...I was thinking of 'The Formula' from '80 today for some reason, teaming Scott with Marlon Brando.
It's on U-tube if you're interested.
