Vote for "Heathers". If I see a vote less than a vote for excellent from any of you I will doubt your sanity. ----- Rusty

Her first nearly perfect performance. Amazing script that works on a lot of levels...stands up to repeated viewing. 9 out of 10

Hi! I voted for "one of my top 5 Noni movies". To be honest: I could not really say what I think what has been her BEST movie so far, I have not seen "Mr. Deeds", "The Crucible" and "Simone" yet. Yes, I am ABSOLUTELY ashamed, which of these 3 movies would you recommend me to see first? I think I need a few weeks more to think about what I would say has been her best movie, but to ME I could imagine that "Edward Scissorhands", "Reality Bites", "Heathers", "Girl, Inter- rupted" could have very good chances.

I voted "excellent". A true cult classic and Noni is brilliant in it. Not a personal Top 5 though. She has so many great movies, getting into the Top 5 is difficult with "Reality Bites" and the Burton films and "Mermaids", etc.

BTW, rewatched Heathers recently as it turns 30, and it probably says something about our era that it comes off less dark and edgy now than it does almost quaint: a baroque comic opera. High School as the Venetian Republic from the overblown set designs to the ornate dialogue. The Heathers are the aristos, the jocks men-at-arms, the nerds Seminarians, JD some dastardly wandering mercenary-type, and "Martha Dumptruck" a lowly servant. Adults basically function as a Greek chorus. It takes place in a world where all the major characters are relatively affluent, and no one really deals with family errands or babysits on the weekends and stuff like that. And weirdly, truantism is not a problem. In recent years it's also been played to the point of parody with a musical adaptation and a short lived TV series, and more recently, surfaced on RIVERDALE as a play within the show the kids were rehearsing.
Still, kind of makes you shed a tear in the age of mass shootings and how this film won't likely be made now, especially recently when a movie (THE HUNT) got pulled for just being an adaptation of MOST DANGEROUS GAME.
