Well the other day i was talking to a B.J fan who has never heard of D.M . Bon Jovi himself trashed D.M once by saying he could never listen to a whole D.M .LP. SO WHO IS THE BEST?

Yooo Lia,
What a comparison!!! Its like asking which tastes better: Filet Mignon or Dog Food. It depends on whether you are a person or a dog! Chas

Polls like this need more choices to vote for. ----- I love the new age group "Cusco". ----- Rusty

Depeche Mode is greatly superior in my opinion.
Bon Jovi = too much goofy psuedo hard rock bad hair music

Hi Folks,
One of the reasons that Bon Jovi was so hugely successful was that they put a "happy face" on heavy metal. Prior to Bon Jovi, metal bands were of the doom and gloom variety, Black Sabboth, Judist Priest, Motorhead, Metallica, etc. Bon Jovi illustrated that all the angry posing wasn't necessary . . . indeed heavy music could be fun AND you could get the girl! Heavy metal was for male teenagers, pop metal was for everyone. So began the era of "Hair Bands."
While Bon Jovi had hit after hit based on their pop sensibilities, Hair Bands in general reflected the derrivative nature of the go-go 1980's, more style than substance. By the end of that run we were assaulted by Poison, White Lion, White Snake, Winger, etc. So it must be said that bands like Bon Jovi and Def Leppard were the originators and the subsequent bands were imitators.
My comment about Filet Mignon and Dog Food only meant that a dog will eat both rather indescriminately, while a connoisseur will eat only the filet and be repulsed by the dog food. I ain't nothin' but a hound dog. ;D
Cheers, Charles

Depeche Mode without discussion. There is also another band, Paradise Lost, which uses a similar sound to DM. They were playing Gothic Metal and death metal at the beginning( They are the Fathers of gothic metal) but now they look a bit like Depeche Mode, with a gothic feeling to their sound. They used to be gods at the beginning, now they are just good, but i am still a big fan of them.
