I can't be objective, but I would pick Winona is both the looks and acting ability. There is a resemblance between the two, but Keira is just starting out and Winona is an established actress, having worked in the field for over twenty years. All the tabloid flap notwithstanding, Winona has already created a body of work that is quite enviable. Hopefully, Keira will have such along and distinguished career.

I agree with Charles. Winona has shown great acting ability throughout her career. I have enjoyed Keira in several roles especially "Bend It Like Beckham" but she is young and not Winona's peer yet.
Keira is a beauty-no doubt. I will still side with Winona. They are both slight of build and dark-haired and dark eyed. Keira actually looks frightfully thin at times. She could afford to eat a sandwich or two. Winona has a more "womanly" figure.

As for beauty ----- ----- As for true acting ability I can't give an answer because I've only seen Keira in four movies and all of those movies I could take 'em or leave 'em. ----- I've been watching Winona Ryder's movies for almost 20 years, ever since the first time I saw her in "Beetlejuice", and have loved her acting more than any other actress. ----- Rusty

It used to be I thought Keira was just gonna come out and swamp the future market of brown-eyed ingenues. That there wasn't room enough for two in Hollywood. But there is room, and there will be, since both are in demand for very different things, Keira seems to go with the "commercial-arthouse-commericial-arthouse" routine most actresses go, while Winona has her own weird and unpredictable little trajectory. So, I have no preference, just watch each one strut her stuff in her hour upon the stage.

I can see how they look alike..once at the check out I was scanning the tabs and thought it was winona on the cover of a mag and it was Keira... Knightley is a great little actress...nothing wrong there..she has been good in the Pirates movies and can get great laughs. But she has yet to touch the soul, MOVE me the way Ryder can with a gesture, a look, that open the mouth, close the mouth then SIGH that she can do...and nobody can get close to her when it comes to emotion in the voice..or eyes...

And that was buy an autographed picture of Winona at the Antiquities Shop at Caesar's Palace. It came with a certificate of authenticity, but there is nothing like getting an autograph of your all time favorite actress in person. ----- Rusty

It almost is as if he DOES.. Rusty is one of our great Winona experts and fans... can probably tell you what she had for breakfast and how much change she has in her pocket at any given time.. I would give a LOT to get the two of them in the same room and watch her get slack jawed as he extolls her virtues and starts in on his winnings based on their birthdays... go ahead, ASK him to tell you...it's a story he never gets tired of telling, and one that I love hearing...

I started playing my keno games (a game sort of like bingo) back in 1999. I played a seven spot, using five numbers from a fortune telling machine card 9, 17, 21, 30, and 46. Plus 29 (Winona's age at the time) and 48 (my age at the time). I hit 7 out of 7 for $1,400, which I thought was great. ----- But next year in 2000 I found some 10 spot progressive nickel keno machines at Sam's Town so I started playing them. I added number 51 (the year I was born), 71 (the year Winona was born), and number 2 (for Winona and me) to the seven numbers I already mentioned. Well before the year was out I hit 10 out of 10 for $40,114, playing just four nickels at a time. ----- That was the best part of my keno story. ----- And it just so happens this year turned out to be a heartbreaker. ----- Since I hit that one in 2000 I've started playing a new casino game "Million Dollar Ticket". You pick ten numbers for a $1 bet and if you hit all ten you win the progressive, which now is around $1,075,000. ----- April 3rd 2007 I walk into Sam's Town to check last night's tickets and the lady said I hit 9 out of 10, all I did when I heard that was swear under my breath. ----- The number I missed was number 21. The 9 spots on the ticket payed $5,000 which is nice, but missing out on $1,075,000 is very upseting. ----- And the lady told me two weeks ago someone else hit 9 out of 10, I wonder if that person was P.O.'d also. ----- My keno story makes me feel like I have a sort of cosmic connection to our lovely Winona Ryder. I've hit three big jackpots in just seven years using those numbers (plus a lot smaller jackpots besides), and I'm determined to hit some more big ones. ----- Rusty
